Dan’Tayia Marable is a Biology major with minors in Chemistry and African and African-American Diaspora Studies. The social justice issues in which Dan’Tayia focuses on through her community partner are education and more directly closing the school to prison pipeline, as well as community building. At the Rogers Road Community Center, Dan’Tayia is the administrative assistant mainly in charge of overseeing the after-school program for students K-6. Outside of the tutoring program, Dan’Tayia has implemented an EOG prep program, assisted in starting an online reading program for students, and assisted in other community programs. This November, Dan’Tayia will be hosting a Healthy Smiles Drive, a dental relief effort to collect dental supplies for Hurricane Maria victims in Puerto Rico.
